This Privacy Policy describes how Furiona ("the Bot," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our Discord bot. Furiona is an anime-themed entertainment bot that provides image commands, social action commands, expression commands, and anime search functionality.

We are committed to transparency regarding our data practices. As detailed below, Furiona is designed with privacy in mind.

Information We Process

Data Received from Discord

When you invoke a command, Discord transmits interaction data to our servers. This data may include:

  • Your Discord user ID (a numeric identifier assigned by Discord)
  • The command name and any parameters you provide (such as a target user or search query)
  • Contextual information including guild ID and channel ID where applicable
  • A temporary interaction token used to deliver responses

Data We Store

Furiona stores limited data to provide its features. This data is associated with your Discord user ID:

  • Economy Data: Your mora balance, daily reward streak, and transaction history.
  • Action Statistics: Counts of social actions you have received from other users.

User IDs are also temporarily embedded in interactive component identifiers (such as button and dropdown custom IDs) solely to verify interaction permissions. These identifiers exist only within Discord's infrastructure and are not retained by our systems beyond the data described above.

How We Use Information

Information received during command execution is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  1. Command Execution: Processing your command and generating an appropriate response.
  2. Interaction Verification: Confirming that interactive components (buttons and dropdowns) are used by authorized users.
  3. Response Delivery: Sending command results back through Discord's webhook system.

We do not use your information for profiling, analytics, advertising, or any purpose beyond immediate command execution.

Third-Party Services

Furiona relies on the following third-party services to operate:

Discord

Furiona operates within the Discord platform. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Discord transmits interaction data to our servers and retains messages, embeds, and other content according to their policies.

nekos.best API

We use the nekos.best API to retrieve anime images for our image, action, and expression commands. When you use these commands, we send only the image category to this service—no user data is transmitted.

Jikan API (MyAnimeList)

We use the Jikan API to provide anime search functionality. When you use the /anime command, the search query you provide is sent to this service to retrieve results. No other user data is transmitted.

Data Retention

Different types of data have different retention periods:

  • Economy Data: Retained indefinitely while you use the bot.
  • Action Statistics: Retained indefinitely while you use the bot.

Third-party services (Discord, nekos.best, and Jikan) may retain data according to their respective privacy policies and retention schedules. We encourage you to review their policies for details.

User-Installed Application

Furiona is a user-installable Discord bot. This means you can install the bot to your personal Discord account and use it in various contexts, including:

  • Discord servers
  • Direct messages with the bot
  • Private channels and group DMs

Regardless of the context in which you use Furiona, the same privacy practices described in this policy apply.

Content Safety

All content served through Furiona is filtered for safe-for-work (SFW) material:

  • Image requests to nekos.best are restricted to SFW categories only.
  • Anime search requests to the Jikan API include a safe-for-work filter parameter.

We do not request, retrieve, or serve NSFW content.

Children's Privacy

Furiona is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Use of Discord itself requires users to meet Discord's minimum age requirements.

Your Rights and Choices

If you wish to stop using Furiona, you may uninstall the bot from your Discord account at any time through Discord's settings. Use the /data command to view the bytes of data linked to you and have the option to instantly delete all your stored data with one click.

For data held by Discord and other third-party services, please refer to their respective privacy policies for information about exercising your rights.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about our privacy practices.
